We had our first Christmas celebration!
Friday afternoon, we headed out of town to go to mom and dad's house to celebrate Christmas with everyone. The boys were a bit fussy on the drive up, but overall, did pretty well. We stopped at Bob Evans in Celina for dinner, and they were GREAT! Guess we can add another restaurant to the list!
We arrived at mom and dad's house around 9:00 Friday night. The boys slept the second half of the drive, so they were able to visit with their cousins a bit once we arrived at our destination.
Saturday we started Christmas around 10:00 in the morning. Jackson remembered what the presents were all about from St. Nick's day a few weeks ago, so he dove right in when he got his stocking and packages. I actually had some difficulty keeping him from opening OTHER people's packages! I know he helped Peyten, Addison, and Brady open a few of their gifts!
All in all, the boys (as well as Brian and I) were very blessed with kindness from everyone.
The biggest hit of the day was definitely Knox's slide. The kids had a blast on it, although I thought it was funny that Knox was the one who played with it the LEAST!
I have a great video of Lincoln, Jackson, and Lylah enjoying the slide - I'll get it posted later this week!
After church Saturday afternoon, we were able to visit with Great-Grandma Emmie. Hope she enjoyed the chaos! Aunt Shirley and Uncle Larry came out to mom's after dinner too, and it was great to see Aunt Shirley, and know that she really is doing better. Now, we have to keep her that way!
Please keep my Uncle Dave in your prayers - he had 5+ bypass surgery a few weeks ago, and has a long recovery ahead. We really need to get these Wappes kids well!
Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season! Wishing you all the best in 2012!
